December 2018, Sheffield City Centre was visited by An Nasiha who distributed roses, buns and sweets to members of the public, commemorating the birth of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The roses accompanied a small card with a few sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) spreading peace and love.It was a great experience for non Muslims to participate with Muslims on this joyous occasion.
Bethany Smith, a local resident who received a rose, commented, “I am so overwhelmed and happy upon receiving this rose. The message in the card is one of beauty and it is nice to see people from different faiths participating in the event today. I hope events like this bring our wonderful community even closer and the ones that seek to divide us are also inspired”.
It was a great experience for non Muslims to participate with Muslims on this joyous occasion. Islam is a religion for all and with that ethos in mind, roses and sweets were distributed for the people to enjoy. We hope that this small but effective step will assist in building bridges between communities in Sheffield.
