Shaykh Muhammad Zafarulla Khan has been serving the Muslim community in the United Kingdom for more than two decades. He is originally from Durban, South Africa and currently resides with his family in Sheffield. At a very young age he left South Africa to acquire knowledge of the deen in Lahore, Pakistan and completed his Dars-e-nizami with distinction under Tanzeemul-Madaaris board. His mentor and spiritual master Mufti Ghulam Sarwar Qadri appointed them as a teacher and Assistant Mufti at Jamia Rizvia Trust, Model Town Lahore. Thereafter to further his passion for knowledge he enrolled at the International Islamic University in Islamabad-Pakistan and successfully completed his LL.B (HONS) Shariah and Law degree. Upon completing 15 years studying under the guidance of his spiritual master, he was given Ijazah in the four main spiritual orders and given blessings to continue with the work of deen.
In the United Kingdom he completed his Masters in Law from the University of Manchester. He has written research papers in Islamic finance, Trade Marks, Copyrights and Patents. His passion is to serve the deen and therefore most of his work has been for the betterment of the Tinsley Community whilst being the Khateeb/Imam at the Hanafia Masjid. There he improved the out-dated madrasah system and teaching methods, provided classes for senior students, engaged with the local schools as an advisor appointed by Sheffield City Council, initiated the Ramadhan food bank for the needy and represented the community in multi-faith dialogue. He currently is a Governor at Brinsworth Academy in Rotherham and teaches the aalim classes to both boys and girls
