Shaykh Waseem's journey into sacred knowledge began with over two years of Arabic study in the UK. In October 2005, during Ramadan, he took it to the next level, traveling to Damascus to immerse himself in further Arabic studies at the renowned Abu Nur Institute.

By 2007, Shaykh Waseem was diving deep into private studies with his respected teachers, Shaykh Ahmad Al-Khatib and Shaykh Anas Al-Sharfawi. Under their guidance, he explored topics like Aqidah (Doctrine), Fiqh (Jurisprudence), Spirituality, and Arabic Grammar, soaking up the wisdom of scholars who not only taught but embodied the beauty of Islamic scholarship.

In 2008, he ramped up his learning by joining the accelerated program at the Dawli Institute for Arabic and Islamic Sciences in Damascus. After an intense traditional curriculum, he graduated in 2012, all while continuing his private studies with some of Damascus’ finest scholars like Shaykh Mazin Bakir, Shaykh Adnan Darwish, and Shaykh Rashad Al-Shams.

Among the many texts he studied, Shaykh Waseem completed the well-known Hanafi work Al-Ikhtiyaar in its entirety and tackled major works in Fiqh and Logic. He also had the honor of studying with Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi, delving into profound spiritual texts like The Shama’il of Imam Al-Tirmidhi and The Principles of Spirituality by Imam Ahmad Zarrooq. Shaykh Waseem even joined the readings of canonical hadith books with Shaykh Muhammad Jumu’a, soaking in the rich heritage of Islamic jurisprudence and scholarship.

Since returning to the UK in 2012, Shaykh Waseem has been actively sharing his knowledge across the country, delivering lectures, courses, and workshops to students of all ages. He co-founded ISNAD Institute, Sacred Vows Introduction Service, and Guidance Hub, where he serves as director, creating platforms that help people connect with sacred knowledge and practical guidance for modern life.

Now residing in Manchester with his wife and two children, Shaykh Waseem continues to inspire hearts and minds. You can follow his latest updates on Twitter and Instagram.
