Shaykh Hafiz Gul Muhammad started his basic Islamic education at Jamia Al-Karam in Milton Keynes (UK) under the tutelage of Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, one of the most profound thinkers of recent times. Having completed his studies in the UK he travelled to Pakistan where he completed an equivalent M.A. in Arabic and Islamic Theology. Whilst in Pakistan he had the privilege of studying under the guidance of His Eminence Justice Shaykh Muhammad Karam Shah Al-Azhari (may Allah have mercy on him); a scholar nothing short of a mujaddid (reviver) of recent times.
Imam Gul Muhammad then travelled to Al-Azhar University in Egypt, one of the most prestigious universities of the Islamic world, where he studied in the faculty of Islamic Sciences for three years.
Imam Gul Muhammad also holds a B.A. (Hons) Degree in Accounts and Information Technology from Staffordshire University. He has served as the Secretary-General of the British Muslim Forum (BMF), an umbrella organisation for Muslim mosques, schools and institutes in Britain. He has been part of various initiatives at national and local government levels and has worked as an Imam in Her Majesty's Prison Service.
Imam Gul Muhammad currently works as a Dean of the Institute of Islamic Theology in Jamia Al-Karam (Retford, UK). He is also currently serving as the Vice Secretary for the Executive Board of Trustees in MINAB (Mosques and Imams National Advisory Board). He delivers lectures all over the UK, to both Muslim and non-Muslim audiences.
