Sister Shaista Qayyum began her Islamic education from a young age under the guidance of Mufti Hassan Razza in 2006 where she spent four years. During this period she obtained her GCSEs in the year 2008 and then went to complete her A-levels in 2010.
She then joined Jamia Al-Karam where she studied the 3 year Diploma in Islamic Sciences & Classical Arabic under the guidance of Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada.
After graduating, she returned back to college to complete her academic studies which led to her starting university in 2014. She is now in her second year of university.
Sister Shaista has taught at various institutions such as Madni Masjid in 2009, Al Markaz Ul Islami, Sayyida Aminah Masjid and Kanzul Iman in 2013.
She is currently teaching at Rabia Institute.
She is also very active within the community. In 2015, she founded the organisation, Ash Shifa for her local community in Bradford providing talks and classes. She has experience in charity work with SM Trust and is currently part of the University Islamic Theology Society.
