Zia Khan BEM is a dedicated social philanthropist and founding member of An Nasiha and An Nasiha Welfare, recognized for his tireless charitable work both locally and internationally. Over the years, he has launched numerous initiatives to support vulnerable communities and promote social harmony.
His contributions include assisting the Feed the Homeless initiative by distributing food and hot drinks on the streets of Sheffield, and providing essential supplies to deprived schools in Kashmir, Pakistan. He has also supported St Luke’s Hospice with donations to aid terminally ill patients and their families.
Zia Khan actively promotes peace and understanding, organizing events such as handing out roses and cupcakes to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, and coordinating youth-led campaigns like “Islam says no to racism” outside the town hall. His charitable outreach extends globally, supporting orphans in countries including Somalia, Yemen, Palestine, Uganda, Sudan, and Gambia.
In addition to his international and local efforts, Zia Khan champions education and well-being through workshops on mental health, CPR, cancer awareness, and diabetes, as well as youth initiatives like games tournaments that provide positive alternatives for young people. He also addresses critical social issues through Knife and Crime awareness workshops.
In recognition of his lifelong dedication to service, Zia Khan has received the British Empire Medal (BEM) and a Lifetime Achievement Award from his local council in the Burngreave Ward.
